Big thank you to the wonderful team at La French Touch!

I arrived back in The Netherlands a few days ago after a long holiday back home in Sydney. I don’t need to tell you guys how depressing it is to arrive back to dreary winter weather after a great summer holiday, especially when it meant leaving all of my family and friends back in Sydney.

I was though cheered up after finding a little package from my friend Yann Leroux in in my mailbox. The package contained a lovely card, designed by Yann himself, and a really cool Guerre Des Etoiles badge. This show of appreciation is another reason why I love the guys at La French Touch.

For those who haven’t read it yet,. check out our previous review of La French Touch: History of French Star Wars Merchandising 1977-1986’ – authored by Stephane Faucourt and designed by Yann:

  1. Can anyone in the blog help me identify possible worth on some collector items still in their original shells? I was an avid collector/fan as a kid back in the 70s80s and have 7 early figures – Klaatu, Ree-Yees, Prune Face, 2 Rancor Keepers, Admiral Ackbar, and Nikto. My played with collection is very extensive and am not trying to waste anyone’s time, just looking for useful advice on possible value on the few figures. I see things on Ebay, but looking for more info on what to look at in regards to the card stock – i.e. Des Etoiles packaging, etc. or if any of that matters. I’ve enjoyed some of the blogs I’ve gotten to and maybe this information is searchable but I haven’t found any concrete info yet. I’m now 43 and my sons are at the age of ‘carefully’ playing with the collection 🙂 I still have a ton of stuff from the second triology that I bought (before I got married/had kids… had money… lol ) and are still in their boxes. I probably could get them graded but I don’t even know how to do that.

  2. Hi Jason,

It’s hard to say unless we see the photos but from what I know these are not the most expensive figures, presuming they are simply Kenner ones and not foreign. But I think it’s best to go onto a forum – maybe Star Wars Forum UK, Rebelscum or TIG and post some photos requesting a value. Or if you are on Facebook – try out my friend’s group – Vintage Star Wars Action Figures. As long as you ask respectively people should help you out. They do sometimes doubt first time posters though as there are a lot of scammers out there.

    Good luck!
